UNCITRAL/UNIDROIT Workshop on Digital Issues, Rome – 6 and 7 May, 2019

A joint UNIDROIT and UNCITRAL workshop on digital issues will take place in Rome from 6 to 7 May 2019. During the workshop, experts will meet mainly to discuss DLT technologies, smart contracts and artificial intelligence. The aim of the workshop is to identify topics that could be involved in the joint work of these organizations. The results of the workshop should be used in the UNIDROIT Governing Council meetings on May 8 – 9, 2019.

DLT, Smart contracts and AI in the transactional lifecycle: general contract law issues

The “operational” panel would touch upon specific operations and how DLT, smart contracts and AI would fit in the realm of traditional contract law, from the point of view of general contract law (including the relationship with other fields such as torts)
