The ongoing digital transformation of legal and economic relations requires increasingly careful consideration of electronic identification mechanisms and the safeguards governing online transactions. In this context, the European regulatory framework, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 (eIDAS 2), aims to strengthen the digital identity system and expand the scope of trust services, in order to ensure greater security, reliability and interoperability within the internal market. Against this background, what are the key legal and operational implications of this evolving regulatory framework? And what challenges does its practical implementation pose for professionals, businesses and public administrations?
