When an artificial intelligence system suggests case law or summarises legal documents, is it merely assisting the legal professional, or is it shaping their judgment? This is one of the key questions addressed in “Giustizia e High-Risk AI Systems”, the book by Mariano Sciacca, which will be presented on 16 September in the Sala delle Armi of Palazzo Malvezzi, Bologna. The work offers a systematic analysis of the relationship between AI and the administration of justice: from the ancillary uses of AI systems to the proposal of augmented intelligence, understood as enhancing, rather than replacing, the capabilities of legal professionals.
